Scheduling Gold: To Recycle or Not To Recycle

Scheduling Gold: To Recycle or Not To Recycle

To recycle or not to recycle. That is the question. At least it is when it comes to scheduling songs when scheduling gold categories.

If you are new to the concept of recycling music, the concept is pretty simple. You replay the songs scheduled during the day (in some categories) in the overnight hours. Why?

Your audience not as important between 12am and 6am because you aren’t rated during that time and your audience is at its lowest count of the day. So you would recycle gold categories to got provide a bigger, better pool of songs when your listening audience is higher. Daytime, for example.

Scheduling gold with recycling can also help with turnovers if your library is small. The audience are creatures of habit, tuning in at about the same times each day. Recycling exposes more titles during the same periods from day-to-day. This gives the impression of a larger library and better variety.
