Not every topic will drive people to call the radio station, or text. And that’s okay. You don’t need a lot of phone calls. In fact, phone calls that don’t advance your story or add to the conversation actually hold you back and can cause your break to stall. The problem is that many shows have experienced a decline in organic phone callers. There are several reasons for this, but it’s not an excuse to give up on listener contributions.It’s not hard to improve phone interaction by improving your source of calls.
Depending on listeners to drive your content is a way to ensure that your show is inconsistent, but there’s no doubt that callers can add layers of personality to a show. That’s especially true for solo shows that count on listeners as co-hosts.
