by Tracy Johnson

The 2-minute drill is a weekly video featuring radio consultant and talent coach Tracy Johnson. Each short episode focuses on an aspect of personality radio. Tracy talks about creative ways radio stations can and should use Zoom…even after life returns to normal.

2 Minute Drill: How To Use Zoom Creatively

  • Zoom is easy to use, and very inexpensive. There are many uses for radio stations.
  • Conduct on-air interviews via Zoom.
    • It’s better audio quality than the phone.
    • Creates a more intimate conversation with guests.
    • Produces a video to repurpose online and in social media.
  • Record each show via Zoom.
  • Edit and use online to offer segments via video on demand.
  • Add a high-quality webcam for each personality ($79 each).
  • Be sure lighting is adequate so each personality looks good (also inexpensive).
  • PPM stations: Be sure audio output is encoded so you get rating credit.
