Be A Part Of The Aircheck Sessions Video Show

Be A Part Of The Aircheck Sessions Video Show

by Tracy Johnson

Air personalities tell us they crave more feedback than they get now. Radio programmers tell us they don’t have time. And, in many cases, lack the expertise to properly aircheck. It’s time to do something about it with a new online video show. The Aircheck Sessions launches January 12 on Twitch.

The new show features me breaking down several airchecks in each episode. Anyone can submit an aircheck to be reviewed in detail. I’ll also select specific segments I’ve heard recently and analyze the performance.

The Aircheck Sessions Details

Here are answers to questions about the show:

Where can I watch it?

It’ll be on the Tracy Johnson Media Group Twitch Channel at

When is it on?

The first episode is at 1 pm Eastern Time on January 12, 2021. The plan is to start with a monthly show and increase the frequency, depending on interest and airchecks submitted.

What will it be like?

It’s a live aircheck session breaking down radio segments in detail. Each episode will feature 4-6 breaks from different personalities. I’ll play the audio, then critique it.

Will the personalities be on?

Not at first. Organizing that many participants on the live show is a little too complicated. But viewers will be able to participate in the chat room, and I’ll answer questions.

How long will it last?

Plan on each episode running for 30-60 minutes.

Can I watch it on-demand?

Yes. Each episode will be archived and available on the channel anytime. But only those watching live can participate in the chat.

How To Get on The Show

All you have to do is ask. Email one (and only one) full segment of your show to [email protected] I’ll put you on an upcoming episode.

Here are some important guidelines to follow:

  • I will review only one segment from each personality in an episode. It may be 30 seconds long or could be 12 minutes. But just send one segment. Don’t send a demo tape or multiple segments.
  • In your email, include the following details:
    • Your name.
    • Name of show.
    • The station and market you are on.
    • A brief description of the show.
    • A photo of yourself (optional).
    • What you want to get out of the session (optional).
  • For best results, send a good representation of a solid segment. My goal is to help personalities advance through the 5  Stages of Personality Growth. This is a great way to learn what you need to grow.
  • Don’t be afraid! Each aircheck critique will be honest, constructive, and positive. I’ll highlight things you do well and things that could be improved.

Program Directors Are Welcome!

If you’re a programmer, I encourage you to attend. There’ll be tips and guidance for better aircheck techniques to help develop skills to help personalities.
