I classify radio content in four categories: Personal Stories, The Mosh Pit (the cast discussing it), Crowd-Sourcing (phone topics), and Other People’s Stories. This is a great example of how to execute Other People’s Stories, courtesy of Free Beer And Hot Wings (syndicated).

They started with a listener’s situation from my Personality Magnet Show Prep service (members can check out the full story from Monday, February 28, 2022). The story was about a woman who left her boyfriend at the grocery store because she was embarrassed at his behavior (he was acting like a toddler).

After discussing the story for a few minutes, the show seamlessly transitions into a phone topic (crowd-source) discussion about reasons for leaving a partner. And at the end of the segment is a terrific tease that makes listeners want to hear the next listener-submitted story.
