The audio tease technique is a powerful way to encourage more listening, but most personalities don’t know how to do it effectively. This tease is actually pretty easy if time is invested into thinking about how to use available resources creatively.

Here’s a brilliant example of how to use the technique. KLOVE morning show Skip and Amy were in the midst of a phone topic about the one word that summarized your engagement. Listen to this segment with a phone call that ends in a great audio tease:

Notice how this call was previously recorded. Skip simply inserted his voice into the call and turned it into a terrific tease. Here’s the next break. He resets the topic and gets into the call naturally and smoothly.

The key to creating this art is simply taking the time to figure out how to use the tools available. Skip recognized a natural break in the conversation, then made one phone call sound like two parts. I love it!
